Parliamentary Monuments and Citizenship

In all our towns and cities, we have buildings associated with democracy. Very often these buildings are old and indeed sometimes famous. But they often present austere and forbidding images, and it could be said they are almost beyond the radar of pupils, and by default almost out of bounds to them. Pupils have little or no idea of what happens in these buildings. Our project wants to break down the barriers between City Halls and the pupils of our schools - enabling pupils to have a basic understanding of democratic processes, while at the same time developing in pupils a sense of citizenship.
