The title of the project is: “Discovering Europe through its waters”. The underlined program aims to help pupils to discover Europe by themselves.
The project partners (Austria, France, Italy, Turkey) will work to create a map of Europe designed through a boat trip from Vienna to Reunion, via the Danube River, the Black Sea, the Bosphorus canal, the Aegean Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Oceans, thus stressing the importance water and sea have in the culture of every country. Every stop of the trip corresponds to a partner country. The trip will be testified by a ship log with impressions, scientific investigations and reflections upon the different cultures.
The main idea is that cultures are discovered by other cultures and not that cultures are presented to other cultures. So each school will send videos, pictures and sounds to the pupils of the other schools every four months and these documents will be the starting point for a deeper investigation. Workshops during 4 meetings will be the opportunity to exchange impressions among pupils.
