Spaghetti with tomato juice (an Italian recipe)

Spaghetti al pomodoro 




 

Ingredients for 2 people

• 200 grams of spaghetti

• 500 grams of peeled San Marzano tomatoes

• fresh garlic

• extra virgin olive oil

• salt

• fresh basil

           
How to cook...

Allow to brown slightly fresh garlic in the oil in a frying pan  high and wide.

Add the peeled San Marzano tomatoes and cook over medium heat for 6-7 minutes and salt to taste.

Drain the spaghetti , stir in the sauce for a minute

Serve after adding a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and  fresh basil.

If you like, you can sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Traditional soup from Zagorje (Croatia)

Ingredients:

   1 onion
  3-4 slices of homemade bacon (bacon)
  200 grams of mushrooms (Chanterelles mushrooms, oyster mushrooms ...)
  2 large potatoes
  1 large carrot
  a piece of celery
  1 bay leaf
  1-2 oz of wine (or 1/2 lemon)
  1 teaspoon sugar
  1 tablespoon tomato paste
  1 dl sour cream
  1-2 tablespoons flour (much better mushroom soup out of the bag)
  2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  1 hot pepper

 

Preparation:

 

1. Finely chop the vegetables, bacon and mushrooms in slices
2. On grease (best lard) put the onion, bacon and lightly salted ...
3. Add other vegetables and lightly it cool ..
4.Add the potatoes into small cubes ...
5. Add mushrooms (chanterelles were here) and it cool ..
6. Add tomatoes, peppers, spices, stir ..

7. Pour water (or broth, soup) to cover the ingredients ..
8. .Let simmer 15 minutes ...
9. Season to taste and add the wine (or juice 1/2 lemon + balsamic vinegar, or vinegar) ...
10. After 10-15 minutes Stir sour cream and flour (or better mushroom soup) in cold water to boil and add about 5-6 min
11. Try and possibly another season or acidify to taste ...

 

Serving

Serve as an appetizer, but it may be with good bread and a main dish, or a midday refreshment after an exhausting night ...

Cod fish with cream- Portugal

Recipe:

Measure for: 4 people

Ingredients:

- Steaks cod ( 2 ) ;

- Onions ( 2 ) ;

- Olive oil ( 3 tablespoons ) ;

- Chopped garlic ;

- Potato (3);

- Water ( 2 cups)

- Milk ( 1 liter ) ;

- Cornstarch powder ( 2 tablespoons ) ;

- cream( 2 small packages )

- Black pepper qs

 

 

Preparation :

Put in a frying pan olive oil, the chopped garlic , the onions, the black pepper , stir under moderate fire. Bake cod aside on boiling water,for 15 minutes ,reserve the water.  Meanwhile , cut the potatoes into cubes and fry in oil. Take the cod , let it cool and shred it. Take two cups of the cod’swater and place in a container like a pot along with 1 liter of milk . In a cup aside, put 2 tablespoons of cornstarch powder and involve with three soup spoons of cold milk, mix until thick . Add the mixture to the gallon of milk and stir until sauce. Add the shredded braised cod in , and the latter add to the sauce . Finally,  put in the potatoes and cream and mix everything well. Place on a platter and before settling in the oven , if you can add breadcrumbs lightly. Bake in the oven for half an hour/45 minutes . Enjoy your cod!

Recipe Kaiserschmarrn (Austria)

You need:

- 3 eggs

- 25g sugar

- 1/8l milk

- 100g flour

- a little bit of salt

- butter

- confectioners' sugar

 

1. Beat together the egg yolk with sugar, milk and flour.

2. Beat the egg whites with a bit of salt.

3. Stir in the beaten egg whites till you have a creamy batter.

4. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat and pour the batter into it.

5. Leave it like that 5-6 minutes until it's golden brown on the bottom.

6. Turn it over and leave it for about 3 more minutes.

7. In the end tear the kaiserschmarrn into bite-size pieces and roast it for some more minutes.

8. Serve the kaiserschmarrn on a plate and sprinkle it with confectioners' sugar
