Our pupil Mehmet Emin( you recognise him from Meraklı's older reports) and his two friends prepared a religional ceremony called "Sama" for us at the last days week of our education period.

Sama (Persian and Arabicسَمَاع‎ - samā‘unTurkish Sema) is a Sufi ceremony performed as dhikr. Sama means "listening", while dhikrmeans "remembrance".[1] These rituals often includes singing, playing instruments, dancing, recitation of poetry and prayers, wearing symbolic attire, and other rituals. It is a particularly popular form of worship in the Chisti order of the Indian subcontinent.

In 2005, UNESCO proclaimed the "The Mevlevi Sama Ceremony" of Turkey as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Thank you for the video. I heard about those dances before, and read an article about the Mevlevi. Very interesting. (für die, die es in Deutsch lesen wollen)
