Festa San Martin (Maltese tradition) K1.2 - Malta
When the Festa ta' San Martin arrives the children are told the story about this Saint. This is a special saint who teaches us about compassion and kindness towards those in need. The children are happy as they all have a special bag which is filled with various nuts, fruits, dried figs, but mostly because they like the sweet bread with sweets on top!! Then they open the bag to see what's inside to share the food. Then sing a short rhyme which goes: (translation in English) Walnuts, almonds, chestnuts, dried figs... I really love St Martin!! :)
