Motto: “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”, Albert Einstein.







Powerful nature kingdom. et

 How about joining our “Mother nature” where students from Greece and Catalonia will learn to live in harmony with our little world, and share experiences.

The languages used will be English, Greek and Catalan.

Through the eTwinning platform, students will first get to know each other, discover their partner’s school, town and customs and the beauty of their own countries. This data will be used to create:

1.  A mascot which will teach them a lot about the nature, plants and animals all around.

2.    A logo which will identify the groups and their goals.

3.    A hymn which will also tell about our participants ideas.

Students will create different characters which will help to analyze our nature kingdom. (avatars)

The participants react and interact to different events that happen in the nature kingdom.

Their creations will be posted in twinspace.

The students will communicate through chats, videoconferences.

In parallel teachers will also communicate through videoconference and e-mails. They will focus on designing material and activities for students where they can develop Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences: logical, musical, visual, intrapersonal, kinesthetic, interpersonal, naturalistic and linguistic intelligences (with special focus on linguistic strategies).

Subjects: Environmental education, English as a foreign language, music, art, ICT and cross curricular areas.

Languages used: English the most, Greek and Catalan.

Pupil’s age: 10-11

Tools to be used: software (video, pictures, drawings, power points, prezi, glosgster…) project diary, chat, email, twinspace, videoconference, webpublishing, virtual learning…


·         Educational and pedagogical: to develop students’ feelings, emotions and the way of looking at the nature with “green” eyes.

·         To be aware of and actively participate in protecting the natural environment and to become responsible, environmentally aware and active citizens of tomorrow (maybe we could write this aim.. think about it)

·         Awareness students to environmental education by respecting plants and animals, taking care of them and fighting against the destructive elements.

·         To develop students’ oral and written abilities.

·    To motivate the students to use English through the practice of the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

·       To make the students actively participate to the learning process by making them reflect on their strategies.

·         To develop students creativity through their cognitive skills.

·         To promote the work by collaboration, cooperation and communication.

·   To expand the results of this collaborative work out of the students’ community(school, town, country)

·         To develop ICT skills in a didactical way.

·    To express their concern over the issue, through painting, photography, theater education and general art

Work process.

There are several steps that will run in this project.

1.    Meeting point. ( September-October)

1.1 Students will meet using the appropriated technology. They will introduce themselves and discuss their interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes and worries about the powerful nature kingdom. After a videoconference first presentation, students will send to their partners a detailed description of themselves and their partners will create an avatar according to the information received. (

1.2 Talking about their immediate environment: their school and their town (smilebox presentation) Partners will solve a little questionnaire about their partners’ school and town (photopeach)

2.    Magic friends.(November-December)

Once the students know each other, they will start working on the first part of the project: find a mascot (art work), design a common logo on -line ( and create a song- hymn for the project (write and sing it- video)

3.    Dangers all around. (January- February)

Observing, taking notes and sharing responsibilities as citizens of this world. Students will work in small groups, they will select an animal/plant in danger.

3.1 Photograph competition. Students will take photos of different places, animals, plants they have in their local environment. The best photo will be selected as the image which will be in a poster with an educational message. (glogster)

 3.2 Small groups will work on the creation of a story about an animal/ plant which is in danger of extinction. The partner’s group will continue the story. (Titan pad, storybird)

 3.3 A play for each story. Each group will receive at random, the story created by another group and they will prepare a pantomime/ play for it (video recorded).

3.4 Journalists. Different journalists will interview the actors and the writers of the plays.


4.    Witches. (March)

     Learning about the stories from the past, how the nature is involved in many legends and real stories that one day were true. Each school prepares a presentation (prezi) to tell their partners about amazing characters and stories that were part of the nature, such as witches and their “magic potions”. The partner school illustrates the story. (ebook).

5.    Humans. (April)

     Powerful nature kingdom is in our hands. Students will learn, analyze and decide what to do with our world.

5.1Interviews and surveys (surveymonkey or…) with adults, children, the Council etc. will be done in this part. The questions to be asked will be prepared by the students from the other school. (google form)

5.2 A wall of opinions about the topic will be created (

6.    On the screen: Powerfulnaturekingdom celebration (May)

     A final video clip will be done by all participants: images and a powerful message will be present in the video clip. Three languages will be used: English, Greek and Catalan.

7.    The powerfulnaturekingdom celebration. Celebrate an on-line party where participants enjoy and present a famous nature event, such as: The world water Day, the Earth Day or even invent. The powerfulnaturekingdom Day.

8.    Evaluation (June)

w  Surveys and interviews

T The powerful dictionary. A dictionary will be created in parallel as the project is developed. The most relevant words will be here in the three languages: Greek, Catalan and English.

9. magazine. An on-line magazine/ newspaper will be edited meanwhile the project is being developed. Here the participant schools will post the most relevant points created with the project.(MagazineFactory)

Expected results

Students will understand how important is the nature in our lives, in our world. They will use the project experiences to learn how to treat the nature, respect it, love it and take care of it. The project will be an important training for them in order to teach also adults how to treat the nature.

The adaptation  and promotion of positive values towards the nature will be certainly a giant step towards a better world in the future.
