Plátano con galleta

"Banana with cookies"

These days we have the whole school working on a project related to the banana. The banana in the Canary Islands is a widely known and is one of the main products exported from the islands.
That is why we wanted to help this project on the part of the cuisine. So we help young children to prepare a meal very typical in Tenerife for afternoon meals: "Banana with cookies."

First we need the ingredients: A Banana, some cookies and orange juice.

The second is to crush the biscuit into bits until it is very small. Here we are helping our smallest school partners.

Then we cut the banana into pieces and crush and mix with cookies.

Now mix everything with orange juice. We add a little juice, making a paste mixture.

Finally the most important step, ENJOY OUR FOOD!

Back to school today for students in Greece. We welcomed the new year in our class by cutting  cake whitch  called Basilopita . This  pie made in some countries by Christians in the  eve of New Year and it  shared soon after the time change. We placed inside the pie ,a coin usually common but in some cases gold (kostantinato) or silver. In Greek province, according to custom, they  placed inside the Vasilopita small piece of straw, vine branches or oliveThe Greek Vasilopita  is cut in immediately with the coming of the new year

Then the father crucifixion the  Vasilopita with the knife three times and he  begins to cut into triangular pieces offered at each attending member of the family or friends and relatives with the first part of the house (or the Christ, the Virgin and Santa Claus), the landlord, the landlady and other bystanders in kinship and age class with the last piece of poor or back of the house, without of course forgetting any immigrants, patients and other members of the family who for various reasons do not attend.
