TURKEY is a big country and when one knows about the tips of transportation it’s very easy to travel in Turkey by all means.
BUS
Turkey has a very good bus network and many of modern, luxurious buses connect Turkish cities and towns daily. Turkish people also generally prefer the buses for their travels. It’s easy to book your seats for your destination when you arrive in Turkey. Especially for the touristy destinations, departures are frequent, and you don't need advance reservations. See two reputable companies Varan Turizm, Metro Tourism which travel almost every city from Istanbul in case you may need to contact them.
CAR
If you are an experienced driver and you want your freedom of movement with your own timing, renting a car is a very good option to explore Turkey. There are several car rental companies (both local & international). It is very easy to rent a car in Turkey once you can manage a stick shift (Manuel transmission). For an automatic car you may need advance reservations. Our suggestion would be avoiding night drives unless it’s a must as there might be some vehicles without lights on the road especially in rural areas.
TRAIN
Train travel might be fun between Istanbul and Ankara with express trains offering more leg room and comfort compared to bus travel, but keep it in mind that they'll be slower than a bus. We are not recommending train travel on the other routes than Istanbul and Ankara as they are older and relatively slow. (Turkish State Railways)
PLANE
Traveling by plane in Turkey is the best option for travelers especially when you have limited time and a long list of must seen places. Turkish Airlines has flights among major cities which are convenient for longer distances, and relatively inexpensive .Apart from Turkish Airlines there are also Onur Air, Fly Air, Atlas jet and Sun Express with even lower fares.
