Visit to All Saints Martyrs Church in Bydgoszcz

On June 15th we went to church ‘Świętych Polskich Braci Męczenników’ (All Saints Martyrs Church) in Bydgoszcz to see the exibition devoted to John Paul II in Pope’s Chapel.

Our pupils could read information about Karol Wojtyła – his life as a young man, a priest and a Pope.

We saw lots of photographs and what is the most interesting – we could see the throne, robes and the altar where John Paul II was praying when he visited Bydgoszcz in June, 1999 during one of his pilgrimages to Poland.

Pope's favourite song

Barka

1.
Pan kiedyś stanął nad brzegiem,
Szukał ludzi gotowych pójść za Nim;
By łowić serca
Słów Bożych prawdą.

Ref.:
O Panie, to Ty na mnie spojrzałeś,
Twoje usta dziś wyrzekły me imię.
Swoją barkę pozostawiam na brzegu,
Razem z Tobą nowy zacznę dziś łów.

2.
Jestem ubogim człowiekiem,
Moim skarbem są ręce gotowe
Do pracy z Tobą
I czyste serce.

Ref.

3.
Ty, potrzebujesz my ch dłoni,
Mego serca młodego zapałem
Mych kropli potu
I samotności.

Ref.

4.
Dziś wypłyniemy już razem
Łowić serca na morzach dusz ludzkich
Twej prawdy siecią
I słowem życia.

Ref.

The Barge

1.
The Lord once stood on the shore,
He was looking for people ready to follow Him;
To catch the heart
God's words true.

Ref:
O Lord, that you looked at me,
Your lips uttered my name today.
Leave your boat on the shore,
Since today I’ll start fishing with you

2.
I am a poor man,
My hands are ready to treasure
To work with you
And a pure heart.

Ref.

3.
You need my hands,
My heart young enthusiasm
My sweat
And loneliness.

Ref.

4.
Today has already set sail together
Heart fish in the seas of souls
Your truth network
And the word of life.
