The housekeeper robot but why not a rubbish-keeping robot

The housekeeper robot was designed in a Japanese university. It is still a prototype. It is 1,55 meters tall and weighs 130kg. It looks like a human or like an arm depending on what it does. It can program a washing machine. The robot has ultrasonic sensors. It can clean the floor and it can put plates in the dish-washer. It is nice to see that we can give our tasks to the robots. The bad side of the prototype is that it is too slow. That’s why we want to propose something, a robot that stores the rubbish. Of course it’s a modern robot! It can sort out the different kinds of rubbish. The plastic with the plastics and the paper with the papers. It’s a robot that looks like a pacman. It is not to small and not to big. It weighs 50kg. It’s a robot that rolls on the floor. It has cameras like eyes to detect the objects and the obstacles. It has 2 different bins in it, and when they are full the robot opens its mouth so that people can empty it. It has small little arms to pick up the rubbish.

It is revolutionary!!!

The NAO robot and the future shower robot

NAO Robot

The NAO robot is developped by aldebaran-robotic for the education of sciences and technologies. It can be programmed to do a lot of doings. It can play football for example in the famous Robocup.

This robot looks like a 58cm-tall child with an outer shell in plastic. It has two legs and can walk away so it has a lot of sensors. Its two cameras allowed it to locate objects or presence like human eyes. When it locate objects, it can grab it with its three-fingered hand and its tactil sensor. Four microphones and two loudspeakers enable the robot to speack and to heard, to communicatewith an other robot or human. It can walk and bend it knees too. So an inertal sensor enable NAO to detect wether it is standing, lying or sitting and enable it to get up. It have a sonar sensor to evaluate the distance between him and objets to avoid obstacles. Bumpers are used to protect the robot from shokes.

We have chosen this robot because it's very funny : we could programme it to do a dance , to play a sport or help children to learn in class.

THE SHOWER-ROBOT

The shower-robot is used to take a shower without working. It's look like a normal shower but it has many sensor and foncitonnalities.

It has a arm which is retractable to dry and to give a towel when the water is closed. A blood-pulsation-sensor under your feet allowed the robot to detect the correct water's temperature. A screen show us the different sensor and their activities. A lot of button help to programme the different mode of shower and activate manually the different water fountain. The robot has 2 loudspeakers to heard our orders. So we can activate music in speackers, the water fountain or the temperature of the water. Under the screen, an autonomous drawer is retractable to give us liquid soap.

This robot allow everyone to a real relaxation shower.

A new Generation of Robots

Part 1 :

In the solar system, landscapes are not always flat. It's why professor Steven Dubowsky, and his team at the Field and Space Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, are developing Microbots. Their small spherical lines allows them to hop over a rugged area and to become the best robot of planetary exploration in ten years' time. The Microbot is nearly the size of a tennis ball, and has a small foot at its bottom. The small foot is retractable and allows its to hop over obstacles. It travels 1.5meters per hop, at an average of 6 hops per hour. To keep its sensors operational, a small fuel cell is integrated in the robot. Because Microbots wouldn't be expansive, the Space Agency could send a large number of them in space for a mission. Microbots are built to work as a team, they would communicate together.

We have chosen it because it will be the vital link in planetary exploration and an considerable advantage to discover the solar system.

Part 2 :

Have you ever dream about a world where you mustn’t move to your refrigerator or your cellar to take a beer or a glass of wine ? If so, the Bartender robot is for you !

You just have to sit down on the stool behind the table of the Bartender Robot, then you just ask its what you wants. This robot is stuffed with many sensor including a speech recognition, ultrasonic sensors to detect if somebody is sitting in front of its and 2 loud speakers to ask you what you want. When you have finish your glass, it put it into the dishwasher, or if it's a bottle, you put it into the mouth of the robot. Then, the integrated crusher will destroy and recycle it.

We are aware that this kind of robot could make you dependent on alcohol. That's why the robot is stuffed with an alcoholism sensor.
