A squash and a squeeze ‘A squash and a squeeze’ by Julia Donaldson tells the story about an Old Lady who is complaining that her house is too small for her. She asks a wise man for advice. He suggests her to invite animals into her house. She follows his advice and she has a hen, a cow, a pig and a goat in her house. When she lives with all these animals, her house is really too small. Then the wise man comes back and explains to her that she has to let all of the animals go. When she stays alone, the house seems to be just the right size and she doesn’t complain any more. Children in the Nursery Class spent the week playing with farm animals. We had a farm in small world and construction area. Children were imitating animals’ sounds. We were playing sound lotto game. Children had to recognise the sounds made by animals. It was a very good team work. To extend children’s interest we visited the local farm. Children had an opportunity to meet the animals, touch the eggs and smell mint leaves. In the room children learnt Makaton signs representing animals. We also had Polish lessons. Children were taught names of eight animals in Polish. Postanowila zapytac o rade medrca. Medrzec zasugerowal, ze powinna zaprosic do domu kilka zwierzat. Posluchala go i zamieszkala z kura, krowa, swinia i koza. Bylo jej oczywiscie jeszcze ciasniej. Wtedy pojawil sie medrzec i kazal jej wypuscic zwierzeta. Kiedy to zrobila, domek byl w sam raz. Starsza Pani juz nigdy nie narzekala. Dzieci w ciagu tygodnia bawily sie zwierzetami. W kaciku konstrukcyjnym mielismy gospodarstwo ze zwierzetami. Dzieci spedzaly tam duzo czasu nasladujac dzwieki wydawane przez zwierzeta. Gralismy w bingo. Zadaniem dzieci bylo rozpoznanie dzwiekow zwierzat. Dzieci podzielone byly na grupy I musialy pracowac zespolowo. Bylismy na wycieczce na pobliskieh farmie. Dzieci mialy szanse zobaczyc zywe zwierzeta, dotknac jajka prosto z gniazda I powachac listki miety. Uczylismy sie znakow Makaton reprezentujacych zwierzeta. Mielismy takze lekcje jezyka polskiego. Dzieci uczyly sie nazw osmium zwierzat. Bylo to nowe doswiadczenie, dzieciom sie podobalo, a ich wymowa byla bardzo dobra.	0	0
