A week with Little Red Riding Hood
It was our first story. We planned different activities linked to this story. At the beginning children were listening and looking. The adults were presenting Little Red Riding Hood in small and big groups. Different props were used to make the story more interesting for the children. By the end of the week all the children became familiar with the story and they were ready to retell it for the adults and their peers. Although some of the little stars were very shy, the final presentation was a great success. During the week the children were creating maps to help Little Red Riding Hood to get to her Grandmother. Children used different techniques. The most popular were felt tips and pencils. Children also made flowers using colourful tissue paper, wooden sticks and cleaning pipes. They used scissors and glue. Children presented their fine motor skills. We enjoyed the beautiful weather all the week and we used our garden for some activities as well. We decided to decorate the brick wall and create a forest on it. Children used mixed powder paint, big paint brushes and rollers. Some of them used their hands for hand printing. Children happily followed the instructions and rules. They wore aprons or waterproof jackets and trousers to protect their clothes. We made delicious cheese muffins for Little Red Riding Hood’s basket. All the ingredients were healthy. Children were working very hard measuring flour, grating cheese and mixing everything together. We couldn’t wait for the muffins when they were in the oven. They were yummy. Finally we wanted to share all our activities and ideas with other children and the parents that’s why the display was created ....................................................... ..........................................................................................................................................................................................
