HiTechnic Experimenter's Kit

During this project we worked with the HiTechnic Experimenter's Kit. We build electronique circuits and we created NXT programes to control and interact with the electronique circuits. For exemples, we cretated a ciruit with LED and resistors and we put a sound sensor and when we spoke in the sensor the LED switched on one after another.

The accelerometer sensor

The accelerometer sensor by Anatole and

Baptiste

This is the accelerometer sensor. It can detect the position of the robot in the space, it can also estimate the speed of the robot. The programmation of this sensor is done to reflect a value. If the sensor is oriented in a different position (left, right, up, down), the value will be different and then, it allow the robot to do something in functions of the value.

This kind of sensor are used for the remote of the nintendo wii, in many smartphones for the behavior of the keyboard (phone keyboard or complete keyboard on landscape mode) or to play games, and in some Laptops to prevent the Hard Drive for Shocks or Drops.

This NXT sensor will allows the NXT to be a remote controller to control an other NXT.

We worked about the gyroscopic sensor :

This plug wires the number for which of your NXT's ports are connected to the Gyro Sensor.

1. This plug inputs the trigger value.

2. This plug inputs the trigger compare mode.

3. This plug outputs the trigger.

4. This plug inputs the offset value.

5.This plug outputs the measured rotation rate value.

This is to program the sensor.

The gyroscopic sensor detects when it is in rotation. It uses the inertial of the earth.

This picture explain what is the gyroscopic effect :

The Infrared seeker

The infrared seeker is a sensor that makes the robot follow a beacon . You can also use a remote control. This Sensor consists of a special shaped Lens and actually five internal sensors that are able to watch a field of 240 degrees. We can find that types of sensors in the armys for the weapons.

Hitechnic new colour sensor v2 by Arthur & Thibaud

The Hitechnic new colour sensor v2 can detect 18 colours, it can detect the blue to the red.

It cost $54.95 .

It can programme with Mindstorms NXT-G and « c » language .

Programming

block.

Programming window of the colour detector.

We can program what colour it will detect.

Example of project can use the colour sensor:

A robot can solve rubiks cube with a colour sensor

An other robot can sort colored balls.
